The aim of the project is the development of a prototypical model to explain the relationships between deformation time series, geophysical environmental information and the damage to infrastructure in the open pit mine area Rhineland, western Germany.
To understand how mining activities and urban planning interact, it is necessary to investigate and understand the potential key factors. Therefore, a number of risk factors are analyzed and the socio-economic-ecological vulnerability at different stages will be assessed.
The final product is the visualization and understandable interpretation of the model, which is provided to the district administration of Düren.
